I became a Community Governor at Cleves Cross 18 months ago. I had very little experience in this regard, so the journey so far has been insightful. I believe in the genuine values of the school whereby the children are at the forefront of everything. It’s shown me how happy the children are who attend this small primary school in Ferryhill.
I predominantly oversee safeguarding and linked matters, but also annually we decide as Governors what other topics from the Schools Improvement Plan we would like to monitor.
I feel like I am continuously learning about the school, but also the topics that I’m monitoring. I believe my opinions and contributions are valued.
Overall being a Governor is rewarding and I feel like I’m helping the school and children in this role.
